Pregnancy Chiropractic Care

Dr. Johns has completed training and certification in the Webster Technique, under the direction of Dr. Jeanne Ohm, as part of his membership with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).

The Webster Technique was developed by Dr. Larry Webster to provide treatment of the normal physiological functions of both the mother and baby throughout pregnancy and birth. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment.

The Webster Technique was developed by Dr. Larry Webster to provide treatment of the normal physiological functions of both the mother and baby throughout pregnancy and birth.

The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI (sacro-iliac) joint dysfunction. In so doing neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved… In regards to pregnant mothers, Dr. Webster reported that when a mother sought care and her baby was in a breech position, the restoration of pelvic neuro-biomechanics with this adjustment also frequently facilitated optimal fetal positioning. There are cases published in the chiropractic literature that support this theory.1

Patients that have a breech baby presentation that are seeking gentler and safer options than the typical medical approach, external cephalic version (ECV), should schedule immediately for an exam at Trinity Chiropractic. Time is of the essence for chiropractic treatment with the Webster technique as the baby’s size in the final weeks of pregnancy can limit the success of this technique.
